Dioctyl Phthalate (DOP) Plasticizer

Description

Phthalate esters, the primary type of PVC plasticizers, offer a wide range of process and performance capabilities at the lowest cost. Di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP, dioctyl phthalate, DOP) is the international standard PVC plasticizer, and the properties of other plasticizers are often measured against DEHP. Other general-purpose phthalates include diisononyl phthalate (DINP), di-isodecyl phthalate (DIDP), and di(2-propylheptyl) phthalate (DPHP).

As a PVC plasticizer, phthalates generally provide excellent compatibility, favorable permeability characteristics, and a collection of performance properties that require minimal modification with other types of plasticizers to meet the demands of many applications.
