Description
Di-octyl terephthalate, commonly known by its trade name DOTP oil, is a phthalate-free plasticizer. This organic compound is an oily, colorless, and transparent liquid, insoluble in water but soluble in oils and nonpolar solvents.
DOTP is primarily used to make PVC flexible, with products manufactured using this plasticizer meeting various environmental regulations such as 16P, ROHS, and REACH, without any adverse effects on human health.
Thanks to its clarity, durability, and high thermal resistance, DOTP can be used as a direct substitute for DOP and DINP plasticizers in a wide range of applications. It is suitable for various uses, including PVC compounds, rubber manufacturing, flooring, roof membranes, cables, wiring, vinyl wallpaper, food-grade films, and artificial leather. Additionally, DOTP is compatible with different processing methods like extrusion, calendaring, and injection molding. Using DOTP in PVC-based automotive products can address the issue of glass window fogging. It also has applications in advanced paints or coatings for furniture and interior decoration, high-quality lubricants or lubricant additives for precision instruments, nitrocellulose varnish, paper softeners, and plasma storage bags.
